The Gasoline Gypsies Say “Thank You” to Patreon Partners at Joe’s BBQ

Patreon supporters enjoyed the sunshine, Drummer Joe Makowski’s culinary skills, touring The Llama Barn; the Gasoline Gypsies rehearsal studio, and listening to a couple of impromptu sets of music at Joe’s BBQ.
The Sunday get together has become an annual gathering between the band and their Patreon members. Patreon is an online platform where fans pledge support to creators, in return for perks such as the Sunday BBQ.
As a special treat, the guys reprised an often requested but rarely played song from their debut EP.
“It reminded me of what a great jam Northbound is,” noted long time GGs supporter Pappy Brant. “I don’t think I’ve heard them play that for ten years!”
About fifty Patreon members and their guests attended. Also enjoying the party was Brian Maloney, still warming up to his recent retirement from his Vice President of Radio position at Capitol Broadcasting in Raleigh, NC. Brian’s influence brought the music of The Gasoline Gypsies to Raleigh’s 95.7 That Station, and helped the band build a solid following in the area.
Patreon has proven to be a successful relationship builder for the group. The personal bonds build between the team and the fans have become inspirational and personal. As frontman Caleb Malooley said during the closing set, “We can’t thank you all enough. Without you, we wouldn’t be doing this. Or, maybe we would? But, we’d just be standing up here by ourselves.”
